.
I’ve returned from Hawaii and I’m fighting desperately to catch up (specially with my favorite blogs). In the mean time, I thought I’d post some more pictures from the Road to Hana in Maui.
And, I hope someone can identify the two plants at the end.

what lovely pictures on such a cold blustery day!
ksr,
Brrrr. I just got in. I can't believe I was on the beach in my bathing suit last week.
While I don't know what flowers they are, the other shots are all so familiar! It really made me long to return to Maui, but I don't think we'll get back there till 2010. We even bought a timeshare while we were there, but haven't been able to get back!
I forgot to answer your question about what garden zone I am in. Good question! LOL Most sites say I am in 5b, but some say 6a, I never know who to believe. I tend to believe the 6a, because it's definitely warmer than my former home in Detroit. And I always thought that was 6a too. Who knows! I'm located in central Ohio.
They're so lovely - the photos are! I love waterfalls and the sound of it falling on the rock! Isn't that heavenly! How long has it been since I've been to one! Ahhh! Thank you for the cool pictures and damn, those flowers (last one) are so ubiquitous here on the edges but I've never cared to know what they're! Gotta go looking. May be other Indian Gardeners like Sunita, Kanak, or GT can spot it before I do.
I believe your second picture is a Clerodendrum quadriloculare aka Philippine glorybower. I have one in my yard, and I love it. It is trying to recover from some transplant shock right now.
I think the first might be Crinum amabile (Giant Spider Lily). Were the flowers ridiculously huge?
CS,
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. I yearn to be back on Maui since the weather here is near zero degrees and there is snow on the ground. We'll have another month of this!
Dreamybee,
Thanks for the plant ID. And, yes, the flowers were riduculouly large - very beautiful.
